Harold Winch

1907 - 1993

British Columbia M.L.A and M.P. for Vancouver East for 23 years, leader of the provincial CCF Party in B.C until 1953. Former B.C. Premier W.A.C. Bennett called Winch "the best leader of the Opposition that has ever been." Winch is also remembered negatively for his support of Japanese internment during the Second World War.

quoted in Columbo's New Canadian Quotations by John Robert Columbo
